In each, you must answer a series of questions about each case (questions are in bold). Try to make your answers as detailed and specific as possible. Use your lecture notes and readings to help in answering the questions but also use your common sense. Sit down and read the scenario carefully. Scenario #1 (40 points): Two hikers were passing through some remote trails in a park system in the Northwest corner of NY State. They notice a pile of purple and red clothing in some nearby brush. Upon closer look, they notice some hard yellowish/white substance peeking out, which they perceive is human bone. Horrified by their find, they quickly race back to the Park entrance to notify the authorities. When investigators return to the scene they observe that the remains include a partially decomposed human body partly buried by leaves, small rocks and other debris. The officers suspect that these remains are of a concealed, recent burial, probably a homicide. Wisely, the officers choose to wait to continue the investigation until a team of forensic experts can be assembled, including an experienced crime scene investigator and a forensic anthropologist. 1.Detail a plan of investigation for this apparent crime scene.
